My dad wasn't were for his birthday/my parents anniversary. So we baked cupcakes. However, my food allergies present a challenge when baking most things. A trip to Whole Foods proved largely successful when we found a box of vegan cake mix. Also, we had old cupcake decorations that went unused for months and that sparked the Parisian Canine theme.
