Day 6: Rosary Beads

Friday: February 28, 2014

Yesterday, I attended my youth group and we've been covering the chapter of Nehemiah. I decided to look over it a bit on my own time, as well as pray the rosary. I find that I really enjoy the peace of mind it gives me, almost like meditation. I like this set of beads, because my grandmother gave them to me.

Day 5: Coffee Galore

Thursday: February 27, 2014

My parents are thinking of replacing our coffee Keurig machine with one from Nespresso. We stopped by the shop today to look at their models and coffee variety. I love how they're all color coded and sorted by intensity and flavor.

Day 4: Lanterns

Wednesday: February 26, 2014

My family and I went to the mall to do some shopping. Malls here are interesting, because they contain a mixture of really Western stores and Middle Eastern shops. I saw this store full of lanterns, and thought it was really beautiful. What's funny is that this store is right across from a Starbucks!

Day 3: Burgundy Backpack

Tuesday: February 25, 2014

This is the backpack I use in place of a purse or satchel. Over the course of the last semester, I had my very own paid internship. For my birthday, I purchased this beauty. It felt good buying something with the money I'd earned myself. Of course, it helped that the backpack was on sale, too.

Day 2: Flora and Fauna

Monday: February 24, 2014

My little brother and I went on a bike ride together, because he needed to collect rocks for his science class. The weather in Dubai has been lovely, we've been able to walk outside and keep our windows open. It seems the pretty flowers are liking the weather, too.

Day 1: Little Buddha

Sunday: February 23, 2014

This statuette of Buddha appeared in our lawn one day. No one quite knows how he got there, or even how long he's been there. It's most likely coincidence, but for months our grass was brown and refused to grow. Now that Little Buddha is here, everything is very lush and green.
